Kia ora koutou!
In Elliott Class, we have been learning about the history of New Zealand and how the first people came to be here. We looked at the mode of transport they used, the waka hourua, and built our own versions of these. We did a floating and sinking science experiment first to see which materials would be the best to use. From this, we designed and built our waka using the materials that floated.
Here are some photos of us testing our finished waka. We were so excited to see that all of them floated!
